Vermont Cookie Love is looking for efficient, reliable, staff members who understand the importance of customer service to join our award-winning ice cream and cookie establishment.
Location Manager - Middlebury
The Location Manager’s primary role is to ensure the smooth daily operations of our new Middlebury location. This is an active role involving working extensively with customers, staff, and vendors. The Manager oversees all aspects of this location while working closely with the Operations Manager to ensure smooth operations.
Your schedule will include one weekend day most weeks. Some night and holiday work is likely. Must have flexibility to cover nights and weekends when other staff call out. Ability to work occasionally at the Ferrisburgh location when needed is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations
· Set up store, bake cookies, prepare ice cream and other ingredients for the day.
· Count cash at beginning/end of day.
· Make sure any special-order items are prepped and ready to go.
· Ensure that all sauces, cookies, ice cream and other items are well stocked and ready for service. Direct team to restock/make these items as needed.
· Become familiar with common food safety practices and procedures, ensure that staff is familiar and acts safely in the handling of food products.
People
· Set daily tasks for team and ensure that staff is working diligently, consistently, and within company guidelines.
· Work with staff to fulfill customer needs: serve ice cream, cookies, hot & cold coffee drinks, make ice cream cakes, etc.
· Create procedures and systems for the team to follow.
Stock and Ingredients
· Rotate and stock ingredients, cookie dough, and ice cream.
· Manage stock of cookie dough and ice cream. Order additional product as needed.
Facilities and Maintenance
· Coordinate proper cleaning of creemee machines on a regular schedule.
· Ensure that the inside and outside of the store is clean throughout each shift and always ready for customers.
Customers and Community
· Deal with any customer issues in a constructive and positive manner. Ensure that every customer has a wonderful experience.
· Participate in community events; make sure that Cookie Love is an active and positive member of the Middlebury community.
Compensation and Benefits
· $25.00 per hour. W-2 employee. This position is eligible for overtime when working more then 40 total hours per week.
· Paid time off – 10 days/year.
· Eligible to participate in our 401k plan after one year of employment. We offer 401k matching contributions from the business equal to: 100% of the first 3%, 50% match of the following 2% (4% total company match).
· Health care stipend. The company will reimburse up to $300 per month against your health insurance premiums (the lesser of 50% of the total premium or $300 per month).
Retail/Production Staff:
*The primary location for this job is at the flagship Vermont Cookie Love location in North Ferrisburgh.*
This position helps to serve customers at our cookie/ice cream window, bakes cookies, keeps items stocked, works on the production of cookie dough tubs, keeps the store clean, and helps to assemble our gift box orders among other things. This position will open and close the store regularly ensuring that cash is accounted for and everything is ready to start/finish the day.
Experience in a kitchen or retail environment is helpful but we are willing to train the right person. Must be able to lift 40 pounds and be comfortable working on your feet. This is a full time or part time position with flexible shifts (nights, weekends, and some holidays are required). Starting pay is $16.00. This job is eligible to earn tips (approx. $2-10/hour depending on season).
Vermont Cookie Love's summer hours are 11:00 am - 9:00 pm. This position will require primarily evening shifts, 1:30 pm - 9:30 pm, throughout late summer/fall. Winter hours are 11:00 am - 6:00 pm, shift will be 10:30 am - 6:30 pm.
